Here's what I've got on hand:
1 lb. of cut up stew meat, thawing.
1 pint of vegetable stock, thawing.
1 cup (+/-) of frozen button mushrooms, thawing.
Canned chicken stock.
Russet potatoes.
Fresh carrots.
Lipton onion soup mix.
1 qt. home-canned tomatoes.
Of course, you know I have a full pantry. I just don't know what else should go into the stew. Slow-cooker recipe is great, but, I'll take whatever you are offering.

I'm not a stew maker. I asked my husband and he started rattling off about making a rue and I stopped listening.
I just noticed your totals for the year so far and wanted to tell you how great you are doing!

Amy, I've looked around at AllRecipes and Recipe Key and I can't find exactly what I want. I consulted my aunt and with her suggestions, I am going to try to put it together on the fly. I'm really not too good at that, I need recipes for anything to turn out right, but, I'm going to give this a whirl.
I'll let you know if it was edible or if I had to throw it out for the animals! When I get home from my trip tomorrow I will get started with it.
